Mirrors in Feng Shui

Finding an occupied house with not a single mirror in them can be a hard challenge as mirrors are part of people’s everyday lives. Mirrors are used for vanity, decorative purposes and even in other practical uses. For feng shui experts, on the other hand, mirrors can be such powerful tools in controlling the flow of qi inside the home to create a favorable environment that will attract wealth, harmony and good health for the occupants.

It is said that one of the best place to put a mirror is in the kitchen, behind the stove. In feng shui, the kitchen is believed to be the area in the house that relates to the success and wealth of the occupants. The stove, in particular, is considered the place where wealth is generated. The mirror that is placed behind the stove doubles the image of the stove burners, which would mean doubling the wealth. On the other hand, it is considered a bad idea or bad luck to place the mirror facing the foot of the bed. This is because it is believed that the soul of the person sleeping on the bed will be stolen by the mirror.

It is also advisable to keep the area in front of the mirror clutter-free. This is because the mirror would double the images of the clutter in front of it, thus doubling the negative energy the clutter represents.
